River Spirit Dragon Boat Society Pub Crawl

Members of the River Spirit Dragon Boat Society present Stacey Marsh with proceeds from the first ever 'Pub Crawl'. A total of $814.20 for Cancer Care was collected throughout the evening of April 24. The Campbell River Dragonboat Society’s team is River Spirit. They are a group of women made up of breast cancer survivors and supporters who, through their non-profit society, work to raise breast cancer awareness. They support people who are living with this disease to live full and active lives through paddling and provide an emotional network of hope for each other, their friends, and the community.
Weather permitting they usually paddle together one evening and Saturday mornings each week between early spring and late fall. Many of the members participate in or support Relay for Life, Run for the Cure, Cops for Cancer, charity golf tournaments, and other local events. As a team, they support each other both in and out of the boat. Having the common experience of breast cancer, they understand the challenges that present themselves with that diagnosis, and the importance of sharing information and friendship.” A great group to be involved with
